Studer Community Institute (SCI) is a 501(c)(3) with a mission to improve the quality of life for all people in the diverse communities we serve.
Summary
This role is responsible for SCI’s Building Brains program that helps improve the quality of life for parents and young children in our community. This position is primarily focused on identifying and utilizing opportunities in the community to increase awareness of the importance of early brain development and conveying that to families through a variety of projects, with the majority of the effort being focused on the in-hospital programming. This work requires strong relationship building, planning, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Essential Functions
- Implement, manage and expand Studer Community Institute (SCI)’s Building Brains programs focused on projects that inform, equip, and support families in the community.
- Serve at the liaison between SCI and all Escambia and Santa Rosa birthing hospitals that participate in the Building Brains Program
- Gather and track performance metrics to assess program success and to utilize for reporting and funding
- Prepare and manage program budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively
- Conduct training for community partners in the curriculum to expand the reach of the project
- Public speaking and communicating on multiple platforms, including radio/podcasts, television, online, social media and print media also required

- Strong relationship skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple platforms (online, social media, print, radio, television)
- Experience in strategic planning and execution and budgeting
- Ability to make sound judgments and influence others
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Able to plan own workload effectively and to delegate
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Google programs (Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.)
- Collaborative skills are required, along with a sense of teamwork, respect and professionalism
- Flexibility and adaptability
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a health, education or communication-related field and at least three to five years of professional experience in a healthcare setting preferred, or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a regular, full-time, exempt position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, but hours could vary according to business needs.
